By just looking at this picture, it is easy to tell it's a girl's desk because of the colors and different lotions and sprays on the desk. I noticed this student had less school work on their desk and mainly kept their personal products, like the sprays and lotions, as well as food, cards, and what looks like a makeup case on the desk. Everything they have on their desk however, is reasonably organized and not cluttered.
I noticed this student is very girly and not afraid to show it. She uses colorful wall decorations, and girly symbols like a butterfly and flowers. She also has her bed made, which could be because she likes to have everything in place and cares about her room's appearance or even her own appearance to other people. On the back wall are a few pictures of family and friends to look up at and be reminded of memories that are important to her. Under the bed I can see a laundry basket and a few other miscellaneous items that shows how students use every inch of space they have in their rooms for storage.
The first thing anyone will probably notice about this picture is the amount of ducks this student has. Like the first picture, this student uses her desk for more personal items, and lots of them. She clearly has an interest in ducks, and has multiple different kinds to show off. This desk is slightly more cluttered than the other desk picture, but extremely decorated with vibrant colors on the desk as well as the walls. On the wall is a calendar of a school schedule which identifies how busy class and classwork can make someone. Summary
What do the data you collect suggest to you about college life?
From all of the data I collected, I can easily say that a student's class schedule will dictate how the rest of their day goes, and what they are able to fit in. After interviewing each student, I also noticed how different schedules between students are, even though they were all sophomores. My data shows that each student's experience during college is very different. I found it interesting that most of the students spend almost as much time on their computers, whether it's doing homework or on Facebook, and doing recreational activities, as they do in class. Comparing the pictures of the dorm rooms, I could tell a difference between which student was more organized, which was more creative with decorations, and which showing off their personality.
